Orthopedic Surgery Second Opinion

MRI and X-Ray review

When considering undergoing surgery, you want to be as confident as possible in both your diagnosis and surgical team. Second opinions are a very important way to obtain as much information as possible before making an important decision.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jonathan Godin is available to provide an orthopedic second opinion by reviewing your records, MRIs and/or X-rays. Dr. Godin, in conjunction with The Steadman Clinic, provides internationally renowned orthopedic care.

Even if you do not live in Colorado, Dr. Godin can still help. We’re fortunate to have patients travel to The Steadman Clinic from throughout the world. Furthermore, if you’re simply in need of an expert second opinion, Dr. Godin is happy to help.

The benefits of a second opinion

After reviewing your case history, MRIs and/or X-rays, Dr. Jonathan Godin can provide you with:

  • Additional knowledge about your diagnosis
  • Additional knowledge about your treatment options

With this additional information, patients are able to compare diagnosis and treatment results between multiple physicians and confirm the diagnosis and treatment plan are the best option for the patient.

Most physicians welcome a second opinion from a respected peer. A good physician understands a patient’s right to be well-informed in order to understand their healthcare choices. Some physicians even encourage their patients to contact a medical second opinion service because a different doctor may determine a different diagnosis and/or treatment plan.

Take advantage of a second opinion from Dr. Jonathan Godin

You may feel concerned about offending your treating physician by obtaining a medical second opinion. Information is vital to all patients when it comes to their healthcare and obtaining a second opinion is a normal practice with shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and sports related injuries. Be honest with your original physician, and they should be understanding of your interest to seek additional knowledge about your diagnosis and treatment options.
